Snoring in Slaton Texas

We are in Texas!  Here is Benny in Slaton:

Yep, he is snoring away.  Benny continued to get into the back seat on his own today, is still insisting that he will only eat raw chicken wings, and visited with anyone who said "Hi" to him.  Yesterday and today, for parts of the ride Benny would rest his head on my shoulder while watching the scenery as we drove on our way to Austin.  Benny will arrive at his permanent home tomorrow.  I feel a deep heart wound, that mix of joy and sorrow that all of us who love share.  Benny is a beautiful, loving and kind being.  He is generous with his kisses, happily wags his long tail in what appears to be a circle, and also transmits a depth of peace.  I am grateful to be a part of his life.  Benny's blog will continue and we will all be able to keep participating in his path back to full health.  We will write to you from Austin, Benny's home, tomorrow.
Peaceful sleeping to all,

  1. Oh the bittersweetness of loving someone only to have to let them go and continue their journey. Knowing that it is for the better is the sweet but we always miss them physically. He is going to miss you too. He will always remember your love and devotion to his healing on all levels. My love to you and Benny. Namaste

  2. I have really enjoyed following your journey with Benny and look forward to learning all about his new life in Texas. You have all given him a wonderful gift and I am privileged to be able to have the opportunity to share in it by following this blog. Thank you, Benny!

  3. The love you both share will always remain even when you are physically separated. It has taken great courage for Benny to love and trust and now it will take great courage to let him continue on his path. I thank you both for sharing Benny's story. It has touched me and reinforced my own decision of rescue and fostering what others see as unwanted and unhealable. Benny's quite peace is a great gift that you helped save for our world and God knows our world needs to recognize the other Benny's out there.
